Uninvited Breath for singer, live-electronics and percussion (2025)

Irregular breathing patterns, normally involuntary sounds during performances, are sampled in this piece using Sonic Pi and Ableton, processed through randomized parameters, and integrated into live interaction with voice and percussion.

Out of place, out of sync: breath that shouldn't be there. Fidgeting with sound and silence. The piece explores the space between control and accident, where technical precision meets bodily unpredictability. Breathing becomes material, glitches emerge as structure, and rhythm fractures into something less certain.

The concept was developed in close collaboration with Ahmetcan Gökçeer (live-electronics), with Katherina Liashchevska on percussion. Through iterative experimentation with sampling techniques and algorithmic processing, the piece developed its own logic of interruption and continuation.
